Happy Birthday America!

Hey guys! Long time no see! I'm sorry for not updating this blog, but honestly there hasn't been that much to blog about. However, this past weekend, I traveled to Shreveport, Louisiana with my family and some family friends to celebrate the Fourth of July, and I thought I would show you all some pictures from my trip!

The hotel we stayed at had these really cute postcards!

So basically, we spent the entire trip at this outlet, which I'm not complaining about because the sales were AMAZING! (do you guys want a haul?)

My ootd!
shirt - Gap | Shorts- Seven For All Mankind | Shoes- Kohl's
The only place we went besides the mall was this hotel/casino
(obviously I'm underage haha, we only went there to eat)

While my mom was waiting in line to get us seated, this lady randomly walked by wearing stilts! And later, we saw a man in stilts as well!

So we ate at a buffet, and this was what I chose for my main course! (Literally nothing healthy haha)

And this was my sister and I's desert (actually it was my second desert plate but shh)

The second day, we went back to the outlet, because they were having a fireworks show by the river that night, so while we waited, my friends and I decided to take some cute pictures! (unfortunately I didn't get very good pictures of the fireworks on my dslr, but I do have a picture of them on my instagram @heyitsdeserry)

And this was how pretty the mall looked at night!

And that's about it! I hope you guys enjoyed this post!

xoxo,

Marching For Life

Hello everyone! On Saturday, I had the wonderful opportunity to partake in the annual March For Life in Downtown Dallas, and let me just say, it was a life-changing experience. I'd never experienced anything like it before, and it definitely changed my perspective on what it means to be pro-life. If you guys are interested, I know that other areas in the US have a March For Life as well.

DISCLAIMER: If this post offends you because you don't share the same opinion I do, please just kindly ignore it and look at my other posts if you'd like. :)

Rather than driving an hour to Dallas, we decided to take a train, which was quite exciting for me since in suburban Texas it's not a very common means of transportation.

My mom and other sister on the train!

My sister and I!

Our stop was literally right in front of the Reunion Tower!

I tried to take a picture of all the people attending the mass, but this isn't even close!
After the mass was the actual march

New Year's Resolutions 2015

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had an amazing 2014, and even if you didn't, now you have a clean slate and a new year ready for you to take control of! I usually don't do resolutions, and I do, they don't last, but this year I decided I would give it a shot.

1. Eat Healthier - I know this is quite cliche, but I genuinely eat like crap 90% of the time, and I've noticed the effect it has on my energy for the entire day, so I've decided to take a step back from all the junk food. This doesn't mean I'll be eating a 100% clean diet or anything (I have no idea how people do that!), but I will try to eat all the junk food in moderation, and maybe find healthier alternatives.

2. Get Fit - This one kinda goes hand-in-hand with the previous one, but I really want to be fit this year. This doesn't necessarily mean I want to lose weight, but I just wanna be able to climb the stairs at school without getting winded after the first flight or run a mile without nearly passing out when I'm done. Jokes aside, I do think it's important to take good care of your body. After all, it's the only one you've got!

3. Use My Camera More - For those of you who don't know, I'm absolutely in love with photography. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to explore photography that much this past year, and I really hope I will be able to in 2015.

4. Stop Comparing Myself To Others - I've had this problem for as long as I can remember. I used to think it would motivate me to get better, but I only realized this year that it's really damaging to my self-esteem and is definitely not a positive form of motivation, so this year I aim to stop comparing myself to others and instead, find a healthier way to motivate myself.

There are so much more things I plan to do this new year, but I chose to share these four with you all so I don't bore you haha. Again, I hope you all enjoy this new year and try to complete your resolutions!

Love,
Dez

A Day at the Museum

Last month, my family and I took a trip to the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, and it was such a good time. I wish we could do stuff like this more often, but school's left me without any days off so far. Literally even on weekends and holidays, I'm still doing homework or studying. Anyway, enough of my rambling, and on to the photos from the museum!

The museum
For some reason it looks tiny on the outside, but the inside is pretty big

I thought this sculpture was really cool
The amazing artwork done by some kids
My sister wanted a "dramatic picture" haha.
I honestly forgot who this person was, but I thought this display was pretty cool-looking
My lovely mother and I (yes I know my eyes are closed)
My sister and I took these cool photos of us looking at the photography, but some of them ended up kinda silly...

                                                           Here comes the silly ones...
Apparently I look like I'm walking like a funny old man
The museum also had this beautiful outdoor seating area, and of course I couldn't resist a photo shoot!

Lions, Tigers, and Bears

This past Labor Day weekend, my family and I decided to go to the zoo, since my sisters and I haven't been to one in about 7 years. Although it was waay too hot outside and it was probably a bad idea to wear a skirt, it was still a day well spent.
(Some of these amazing pictures were taken by my sister)
